There are four ways to upgrade a character: Level, Rank, Gear, and Abilities. All four will increase the character's power rating.

LevelEdit

Levelling up a character requires Training Modules. There are four different types of Training Modules, each providing a different amount of XP and costing a different amount of Gold to equip.

Characters can be ranked up to a maximum of 7 stars. The below table displays the cost of upgrading to each rank.

GearEdit

Every character has six gear slots. Each slot requires a specific piece of gear. Once all six slots have been filled, the gear "Tier" can be upgraded. Upgrading tiers will consume all 6 pieces of slotted gear, and the slots will be empty again. Some gear can not be acquired directly and must be crafted from 2 or more other pieces of gear. The higher the gear tier, the more complicated the gear required becomes. Currently, the maximum gear tier achievable per character is Tier 10.

Equipping a piece of gear increases certain character attribute, and upgrading the Tier does not remove those increases. Increasing the Tier actually adds more attribute increases.

E.g. Level 16 S.H.I.E.L.D. Trooper - Gear Tier 1 - 4 pieces already equipped

  • Equipping Serum 612: Health +140, Resistance +1
  • Equipping ICER Rifle: Health +40, Damage +4, Focus +2
  • Upgrading to Tier 2: Health +154, Damage +14, Armor +3, Focus +14, Resistance +16

AbilitiesEdit

Abilities can be leveled up using Ability Materials. A character's first three abilities (Basic, Special, and Ultimate) can be a maximum of Level 6. A character's last ability (Passive) can be a maximum of Level 4.

Minions do not have Ultimate abilities.
